Through the navigation of narrative we have millions of pathways, connections, combinations of directions. Anything can go anyway, it is up to ourselves about choice of pathway. Take control, don’t be controlled.Be aware of the lack of security on the internet. Hiding under the banner of keeping our community safe. IF the data is available, will it be used correctly and in a protective way?
Self awareness of what we download over the internet. What we do is tracked and stored. We are traceable now.
How will our online lectures be affected? How can we be made aware of how the internet is tracked if the lecturer is restricted in what they put online?
How do we know what we publish online remains our property?
How we see the world?
Technology and art is shaping our thoughts. Views. Perspectives. Opinions. Hyper textual implications.
Embedding in the real word. Be aware that each media form has its own accent.
How usable are some technologies? Good usability verses bad usability. Facebook is easy…..enrolling to study at university is tricky!!!
E Waste!!! Reduce, renew, recycle. Buy less. Consume less. Be aware of our footprints and be kind.
Here is my Transmedia assignment. The elements I hope I have covered is that everything is connected. I have used contagious media such as both Facebook and Youtube in making this trailer . Within the project I implanted a photograph that I took of the film site to add into part of the filming. I used both iPhone and SLR camera to take footage. The use of Facebook should be seen as I filmed one of the parts of filming from the internet and placed that within the trailer.
Exploring what we consume and what we throw away. What happens to all this stuff thats thrown away??? Landfill. smart waste sent back to India for example and re enter technology chain.
Downgrading of material. Eg food grade plastic not same grade next cycle.
For assignment number three I have chose to make my own ‘film’ potion and story, working independently. I wanted a fresh, new theme of my own, to see how I could explore my ideas in an artistic scene.
My site to explore in film is an abandoned house at a long lost vineyard in Dunolly. I played with the idea that the final film include all elements. For example a large photo of the house implanted into the film, then refilling the original footage over and over again.
I begin my production by producing a large photo of one of the homes rooms. The house apparently has had no inhabitants since the depression. It has been since used as a storage shed for hay.
Site to photograph
I found a room scattered with hay. On the floor there is also blue hay bale twine. This blue is matched by the blue on the walls, long faded yet still slightly hinting of its existence.
From this scene I took a few shots using a Canon D5 digital SLR camera. The light was perfect warm morning light.
Shot for enlargement
This is the photo I decided on that shows the atmosphere of the house. Decay, cracks in the walls, fallen bricks, chips paint. Yet beyond the imperfections of time are those tiny hints of humans. The multi layers of different coloured paint, the elaborate brick fireplaces, the beautifully lined timber ceilings speak of a past when someone cared for this long lost building.
I took the image to the print studio at the Latrobe University and had a large A3 size printed up. I took this print back to the old house and filmed the rooms and the print lying on the floor.

I then posted this film to Facebook. Once uploaded I then filmed the facebook entry to obtain another layer to my final film.
